Jane Clarke - author

Jane has been an archaeologist and a history teacher, and began writing for children when she was working as a library assistant at Antwerp International School.

Jane is now a full time children's writer and lives within walking distance of the White Cliffs of Dover. She's interested in nature as well as archaeology and two of her favourite things are walking her dogs in the beautiful Kent countryside and hunting for fossils. Her laptop sits on her writing desk alongside ammonites, trilobites and fossil sharks' teeth, all of which goes some way to explain the inspiration behind Gilbert the Great and her dinosaur-related work under the pseudonym Rex Stone for Dinosaur Cove.

Jane gets a buzz out of visiting primary schools in the UK, and the elementary sections of international schools, sharing her poems and stories and running writing workshops.

She'd love to think that someone somewhere will treasure her books the way she cherishes the books she read to her two sons when they were small.
