Malachy Doyle - author
Malachy grew up in Ireland, studied in England, raised a family in Wales, and has now returned to Ireland. He lives with his wife Liz, one cat, one dog and a load of ducks and hens, on a tiny island off the coast of Donegal. After a short-lived career in the heady world of advertising, Malachy dropped out of corporate life at the age of 30 to grow vegetables, chickens and children in rural Wales. A second career in special needs education ensued, but at the age of 40 he was gripped by the writing bug. Malachy writes for all ages. His first teenage novel, Georgie, won the Tir na n-Og prize; his picture book, Cow, won an English Association Award for non-fiction; while another picture book, The Dancing Tiger, won a Nestlé Children's Silver Book Award.Website
