About Laurent Cardon
Laurent Cardon was born in France, and has lived in São Paulo, Brazil, since 1995. Since graduating from animation school Les Gobelins in Paris, he has worked as an animator, a storyboarder, a layoutman and an illustrator. He has worked in TV series and feature films in France, China, Korea, Spain, and recently in Vietnam as an art director in a 2D animation studio. He’s also a founding partner of the graphic design and animation studio CITRONVACHE in São Paulo.
He began working in children's literature in Brazil and has since illustrated many books. The diversity of his background means he’s always interested in new styles and techniques, from realism to humour, street sketches to engraving, watercolour to digital.
He has won several Brazilian awards including the Hors Concourt (FNLIJ) for the Brazilian Edition of
Wolf Wanted and the Best Book in Children’s and Young People’s Literature (2nd place) at the Brasilia Prize for Literature 2012 for
Um Nó na Cabeça.
