Two Wheels - his second picture book - comes out with Walker Books in 2023. Just like his recent album, it's a tender coming-of-age story about a father teaching his child to ride a bicycle.
And it honours his late father with great warmth and lightness of touch.
After several successful years playing on the UK folk scene, in 2014 David found himself frustrated at the lack of high quality music available for families.
Inspired by the strong independent children’s music movement in America, he set himself the mission of writing of songs aimed at families. Quality musicianship and song-writing are his focus.
He now tours his albums up and down the country, playing to families at festivals and theatres. And he's turned his hand to writing songs that double as picture book texts for illustration.
David's first picture book Too Many Bubbles, illustrated by Dan Taylor, came out with Simon Schuster in 2020.
David Gibb's represented by The Catchpole Agency for his children's books.
